Syn history
Dr Syn was first written in 1915, by Russell Thorndike, and was intended as a single novel,however, at public outrage,( because he was killed off,)he was brought back and Thorndike wrote six more books to continue the saga. These six books were written so that the Dr Syn novel was the last in the series. All are good. To celebrate Russell Thorndike's work there is a village festival held every other year and every one gets dressed up and acts out pieces of the books.!There have also been three movies about the Dr Syn saga one with George Arliss, one with Peter Cushing and One with Patrick Mcgoohan. If Russell were alive today he'd be very pleased that Dr Syn still lives on in the hearts and minds of so many people
